Abstract

An analysis on the existing radial tire nonequilibrium contour design theory and the characteristics of NORIKO's and FRANK's theory is conducted, based on which a combination of NORIKO's and FRANK's theory is made. And a new pneumatic tyre nonequilibrium contour integral equation is obtained. Meanwhile a software concerned is successfully developed. A design of the radial tyre 315/60 R22. 5 and 385/55 R19. 5 based on the equation above are put foward. With the finite element technology, a comprehensive contrastive analysis between this very design and the current design is made from aspect of pressure distribution, strain energy potential on the rim and tire shoulders. The results show that, the new designed tyre using the proposed nonequilibrium integral equation, compared with the former, have been substantially improved on the aspect of strain energy potential on tire bead and tire shoulder, namely the tire wear, grip and fatigue performance have been promoted.
