Abstract

The signals of intracellular metabolites are integrated into cellular signaling networks by forming metabolite-derived posttranslational modifications or by non-covalently binding to proteins. These signals serve to coordinate cell metabolism and to regulate various aspects of cell physiology. © 2016 IUBMB Life, 68(11):871–872, 2016.
