Abstract
In this review clinical abnormalities of renal calcium excretion will be examined against the background of our present understanding of two interrelated areas: the physiology of normal renal calcium handling, and total calcium homeostasis, involving the integrated actions of the skeleton, intestine and endocrine systems, as well as the kidney.
