Anthrax: Unforgettable disease in the modern era

Abstract

Anthrax is one of the oldest known zoonotic diseases. Its incidence is gradually decreasing in our country and in the world. Different clinical pictures appear depending on the causative agent’s port of entry. Anthrax continues to be a zoonosis transmitted from infected animals in developing countries as well as a bioterorism-related global threat in both developing and developed countries. In this article, we reviewed actual situation of anthrax which still exists in Turkey.
