Abstract
The incidence of sialolithiasis in the parotid gland is usually lower than in the submandibular salivary gland. Parotid sialolithiasis was found in a 10-year-old child who visited our clinic with a complaint of repeated swelling of the left parotid gland. A salivary stone was noted on soft X-ray radiography, CT, Echo and sialography. The stone was treated with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). The patient has been of inflammation of the left parotid gland for 18 months. © 1994, The Society of Practical Otolaryngology. All rights reserved.
