Abstract

The interoperability of information systems represents a key factor in streamlining the exchange of information in a collaborative environment, especially in public administration entities. Although there are several approaches on this topic related to public entities and private organizations, there is a lack of research in public universities in Mexico. This research is an exploratory case study, which proposes a maturity model to determine the level of interoperability at the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, the proposed model is based on the most widely used maturity models that measure interoperability. For data collection, a total of ten interviews were performed using the semi-structured technique. Once interoperability has been measured with the proposed model, it is concluded that the institution is at a low level, due to organizational procedures and policies, but it also faces different challenges due to the different levels at which it is located, since it has the technological and communications infrastructure necessary to be at the highest level of interoperability.
