Abstract
ABSTRAK Nanas (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) merupakan salah satu buah yang banyak ditemui dan digemari masyarakat Indonesia. Buah nanas mengandung flavonoid dan enzim bromelin yang memiliki potensi sebagai antibakteri. Staphylococcus aureus adalah salah satu bakteri yang berperan pada penyakit kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antibakteri dari ekstrak ampas nanas dan air perasan nanas terhadap bakteri Staphyloccocus aureus. Ekstrak ampas nanas dan air perasan nanas dibuat bervariasi konsentrasi yaitu 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. Uji aktifitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi kertas cakram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak ampas nanas memiliki nilai Diameter Daya Hambat (DDH) pada konsentrasi 25% (7,38 mm), 50% (7,95 mm), 75% (8,00 mm), dan 100% (9,72 mm), yang tergolong dalam kategori sedang (5-10 mm), sedangkan pada air perasan nanas nilai DDH pada konsentrasi 25% tidak memiliki daya hambat, 50% (7,62 mm), 75% (8,60 mm), dan 100% (9,09 mm). Hasil nilai Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) ekstrak ampas nanas dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus pada konsentrasi 25%, sedangkan pada air perasan nanas pada konsentrasi 50%. ABSTRACT Pineapple (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) is a widely found and liked fruit by Indonesian people. Pineapple fruit contains flavonoids and bromelin enzymes which have the potential as antibacterial. Staphylococcus aureus is a bacteria that play a role in skin diseases. This study aims to determine the antibacterial effect of pineapple pulp extract and juice against Staphylococcus aureus. Pineapple pulp extract and juice were made in various concentrations, namely 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The antibacterial activity test was carried out using the paper disc diffusion method. The results showed that pineapple pulp extract had Inhibitory Diameter (DDH) values at concentrations of 25% (7.38 mm), 50% (7.95 mm), 75% (8.00 mm), and 100% (9, 72 mm), which belongs to the medium category (5-10 mm), while in pineapple juice the DDH value at a concentration of 25% had no inhibition, 50% (7.62 mm), 75% (8.60 mm), and 100% (9.09 mm). The results of the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) value of pineapple pulp extract can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at a concentration of 25%, whereas in pineapple juice at a concentration of 50%.
