Abstract

Two new triterpenoid saponins, ardisimamilloside G (1), 3-O-{α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4) -[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)]-α-L-arabinopyranosyl}-13β, 28-epoxy-16-oxo-oleanan-3β,30-diol and ardisimamilloside H (2), 3-O-{α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4) -α-L-arabinopyranosyl}-3β-hydroxy-13β,28-epoxy-16-oxo-oleanan- 30-al, were isolated from the roots of Ardisia mamillata HANCE. Structure assignments were established on the basis of spectral data and chemical evidence. © 2003 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
