Abstract
This second comprehensive Archival Census and Education Needs Survey in the United States (A∗CENSUS II) was funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The surveys were conducted by Ithaka S+R in conjunction with SAA. The All Archivists Survey, which garnered 5,699 responses, targeted self-identified archivists/archives workers in the United States to gather information about their demographics, educational background and needs, job placement and status, and salaries, as well as their perspectives on key issues in the field. The All Archivists Survey Report is published in the Spring/Summer 2023 issue of American Archivist. The Archives Administrators Survey, which garnered 746 responses, targeted the directors of archival organizations to gather data about institutional characteristics, resources, strategic directions, and equity, inclusion, diversity, and access issues. Both datasets are open access in the SAA Dataverse at https://dataverse.unc.edu/dataverse/ACENSUS.
