Abstract
The maturity of an organization’s software development environment impacts the productivity of its developers and their teams. Consequently, organizational attributes should be measured and factored into estimates of cost, schedule, and quality. This chapter presents an evolutionary model of organizational maturity, how the model can guide productivity and quality improvements, and how its practices can be adapted to evolving development methods.
