Abstract
Abstrack-Modern life often presents security challenges, both in villages and crowded and densely populated neighborhoods. Quoted from Databoks Data Publish, the Police reported 137,419 crime cases during the January-April 2023 period. The number increased by 30.7% compared to January-April last year amounting to 105,133. The majority of crimes occurred at night between 6 p.m. and 9:59 p.m. Equivalent to 11.42% of the total crime cases in Indonesia in January-April 2023. With the increasing number of crimes, the need for effective and sophisticated security solutions is increasingly urgent. This research aims to develop a home door security system that utilizes Internet of Things (IoT) technology using ESP32 microcontrollers, Solenoids, buzzers, and Relays. The system enables real-time surveillance and control of home doors remotely via the web and WhatsApp notifications. System testing is carried out in two stages, namely the remote control function and system response to changes in door status which are carried out 6 times with 4 different devices and distances. The test results show that the prototype of this system works well, even in different network conditions and long monitoring distances. Evidenced by the results of system trials on different devices with a monitoring distance of 60cm; 3m; 2km; 21km and 126km. The evaluation shows the notification success rate, response time, and reliability of the control system. The findings provide valuable insights for the development of more efficient and responsive IoT-based home door security systems. With this solution, it is expected to increase home security effectively now and in the future.
