The use of electricity and hydrogen is considered a promising way to help resolve environmental and energy-related issues. Based on this concept, fuel cell (FC) vehicles (FCVs) have been developed with the aim of achieving their widespread adoption in the future. This article describes the technical challenge to be overcome in the actual production of FCs installed in FCV Mirai. © 2016 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
