Abstract

Primary spontaneous pneumothorax is an infrequent event in children. Multiple aetiology, extensive clinical presentations and lack of observational studies in paediatric population makes difficult to establish explicit therapeutic guidelines. In this article a treatment using a scale based on aetiology, pneumothorax severity and response to treatment is offered. Special attention has been given to therapeutic comparative studies and to video-thoracoscopy.
