Abstract

A new hoplonemertean species belonging to the genus Nipponnemertes is described from kelp holdfasts washed up on two New Zealand beaches following a major tropical storm. The new species is characterised by the presence of circulating erythrocytes and the presence of distinctive “nuage‐like” material in oocytes. © 1998 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
