Descarte de medicamentos: logística reversa

Abstract

Resumo O desenvolvimento tecnológico e científico, assim como as novas políticas públicas para redução de custos dos medicamentos, tem expandido o acesso populacional aos meios terapêuticos e, consequentemente, produzido aumento significativo de seu descarte inadequado no meio ambiente. Os resíduos de medicamentos originados da cadeia farmacêutica são encontrados tanto na indústria farmacêutica como nas instituições de serviços de saúde e nas residências domiciliares; quando descartados de maneira incorreta, podem gerar consequências lastimáveis ao meio ambiente e ao ser humano. Neste contexto, este artigo teve como principal objetivo trazer reflexões sobre a logística reversa no descarte de medicamentos. Para alcançar o objetivo proposto, procedeu-se a uma revisão bibliográfica, com base em autores que já discutiram o assunto. Observou-se que, cada vez mais, o desenvolvimento do planeta vem reforçando o conceito de sustentabilidade. Não apenas no uso dos diferentes recursos naturais, mas também no correto trato dos bens materiais disponíveis, como nas questões relacionadas à saúde. Portanto, cabe à sociedade cumprir a sua parte não só para seguir as normas da lei, isto é, dispor resíduos de modo a não agredir o meio ambiente, mas também exigindo dos governantes, assim como do setor industrial, a implantação da logística reversa de medicamentos. Abstract Technological and scientific development and new public policies to reduce drug costs have expanded the population's access to therapeutic means and, consequently, produced a significant increase in their inappropriate disposal in the environment. Drug residues originating from the pharmaceutical chain are found both in the pharmaceutical industry and in other health service institutions and households; when improperly disposed of, they can create unfortunate consequences for the environment and human beings. In this context, the article had as main objective to reflect on the reverse logistics in medicines' disposal. A bibliographic methodology was carried out to achieve the proposed objective, based on authors who have already discussed the subject. It was observed that, more and more, the development of the planet has been reinforced the concept of sustainability. It is not only in the use of different natural resources but also in the correct treatment of available material goods, as in health matters. Therefore, it is up to society to fulfill its part not only to follow the norms of the law, that is, to dispose of waste in a way that does not harm the environment, but also requiring the government, as well as the industrial sector, to implement the reverse logistics of medicines.
