Abstract
The research about the test of ethanolic extract of Aloe vera L. leaves to the level of blood glucose levels of white male mice induced hyperglycemia with dexamethasone 5 mg / kg and 10% glucose 2 g / kg enzymatically using GlucoDr ™ tool. This research was done experimentally using 5 groups of mice, each group consists of 5 mice, which are control group, comparison (glibenklamid) and 3 group of treatment with doses 200 mg/kgBB, 400 mg/kgBB and 800 mg/kgBB. Ethanolic extract of Aloe vera leaves and glibenklamid as comparison were given orally for 14 days and blood glucose measurements performed on days 0, 14, 21 and 28. The data obtained were analyzed with one and twoway ANOVA with SPSS17 program. The Result of statistical analysis showed that the ethanol extract of Aloe vera L. leaves at doses 400mg/kgBB and 800 mg / kgBB can lower blood glucose levels were significantly hyperglycemic mice (p <0.05). The higher dose of the extract and extract the longer the better the ability of the aloe vera leaf extract in lowering blood glucose levels. This proves that the aloe vera leaf can lower blood glucose levels induced hyperglycemic mice with dexamethasone 5 mg / kg and 10% glucose 2 g / kg.
