Abstract
Over the past decade, male factor infertility has had a heightened awareness. With a better understanding of reproductive physiology, the assessment of male patients is more refined. Technologic advances in the reproductive sciences have allowed physicians to better understand the potential defective factors that play a role in conception. Unfortunately, the ideal test of sperm function has yet to be developed. Successful treatment options are generally limited to several medical and surgical measures with additional expensive assisted reproductive techniques as backup.
