Abstract

Nifedipine (Adalat) is a new, highly effective agent in the treatment of angina, with beneficial haemodynamic responses.Adverse side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms, sensation of heat, and facial flushing. We report on a patient who developed hepatitis after administration of nifedipine. The clinical course, immunological findings, and a positive challenge test result strongly indicated a hypersensitivity response. © 1980, British Medical Journal Publishing Group.
