Abstract

Students often consider chemistry as a difficult subject. Therefore, an engaging learning model is important in chemistry learning. This study aimed to produce an effective learning model to improve students' psychomotor achievement. This study used research and development using ADDIE model. The research was conducted in two senior high schools in Padang Sidempuan, North Sumatera. The participants were divided into an experimental class and a control class. The effectiveness of the learning model was investigated by assessing students' learning achievement, especially on the psychomotor aspect. The result showed that the inquiry-based learning model was effective. This result implies that the model can be used to improve students' psychomotor achievement.
