Abstract

The article presents an overview of the world trends in the development of the tailored fiber placement technology (TFP), which allows to obtain volume-reinforced preforms for layered composites with increased physical and mechanical properties. Primary factors hindering the large-scale implementation of the TFP process in mass production are identified. The main achievements and capabilities of the technology are presented and promising research directions for its further development are proposed.
