Abstract

The incidence of positive reactions to 27 cosmetic ingredients in patchtests from September, 1982 to August, 1983 was reported. It is noticed that the incidence of positive reactions to cinnamic aldehyde dropped markedly, that is, 0.0% (0/214) during the period. The worst 5 cosmetic products are the following : eyeliner 8.71% (2/23), cleansing cream 6.1% (6/98), lipsticks 4.7% (14/295), under-makeup cream 4.3% (5/117) and cleansing foam 4.7% (3/72).
