Abstract

The aq. soln. of tetra-Bu ether derivs. of p-sulfonatocalix[4]arene(SC4Bu) and ascorbic acid (AA) complex was studied based on fluorescenceand 1H NMR spectroscopic results. The fluorescence intensity of SC4Buquenched regularly upon the addn. of AA. A 1:1 stoichiometry forthe complexation was established and was verified by Job's plot. The temp.-dependent inclusion consts. were calcd., form which ΔHand ΔS values were calcd. Meanwhile the proposed interaction mechanismof the inclusion complex was discussed based on 1H NMR results. Thevarious factors (ionic strength, and surfactants) effecting the inclusionprocess were examd. [on SciFinder(R)]
