Abstract

Manganese behaviors under oxygen gas blowing are investigated in the 50 kg combined blowing converter and 250t combined blowing converter. Manganese reaction mechanism is discussed and reaction rate model is established. Rate parameters in the model were discussed. Using the rate model, manganese contents at latter period and the end of operations were estimated. The accuracy of the estimation is good and proved the possibility of operational use. © 1993, The Iron and Steel Institute of Japan. All rights reserved.
