Abstract

Nigeria as a country in West Africa is endowed with natural resources, good vegetation and weather conditions. The potentiality of bee-keeping and production of quality honey as a profitable venture in Lagos and its environs is purposely reviewed to boost honey and beeswax production in Nigeria. This may create job opportunities for the youths and the old people, particularly the retirees, if the Federal Government could be involved in the rearing of honeybees. honey extraction and processing, packaging and marketing of the products. As a result, subsidiary industries may spring up which may boost the economy of the country.
