Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the composition, dosage and interaction of water hyacinth compost on the growth and production of Japanese cucumber (Cucumis sativus var japonese L.). The method used was a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 2 treatment factors. The first factor is the composition which consists of 3 levels (Water hyacinth, WaterHyacinth + Chicken, Water hyacinth+goat manure) and the second factor is the dosage of water hyacinth compost which consists of 3 levels (40g, 80g, 120g). The results showed that the composition of water hyacinth + chicken manure had the best effect on the growth and production of zucchini on the productivity parameter of 12.87 tons/ha. The dose of water hyacinth compost 120g/polybag is better for the growth and production of Japanese cucumber plants on the parameters of plant height of 152.78 cm, number of leaves of 14.22 strands, fruit length of 27.16 cm, fruit diameter of 5.85 cm and productivity of 13.04 tonnes/ha. The interaction between water hyacinth + chicken manure at a rate of 120g/polybag gave the best effect on growth and production in the fruit weight parameter of 835g/plant.
