Abstract

The coupling of coherent electronic wave packets with LO phonons in semiconductor superlattices (SLs) of different miniband widths was studied. It was observed that Bloch oscillations tuned into resonance with LO phonons provide an effective way for the coherent excitation of optical phonons. The exact position of the maximum phonon amplitude was dependent on the dephasing time of the electronic coherence.
