Abstract
The article discusses the issue of privacy of digital content of libraries that protects patron data, including a library user's right to confidentiality with respect to information sought, borrowed, acquired or transmitted stored in computer servers. For example, an e-book transaction involving digital rights management requires authorization with a licensing server for verification. However, the e-book marketplace is a lending system where expectations of patron privacy is considerably lower.
