Abstract

The article discusses the one-shot concept for instruction librarians which is a balancing act between delivering the information literacy skills students will need as well as addressing the particular demands of a course. It mentions that the Virginia Tech Newman Libraries (VTL) had first utilized Likert scale evaluation instruction which was then replaced with 3-2-1 card model due to its shortcomings. Furthermore, VTL shifted to an electronic survey instrument in 2008 known as Survey.vt.edu.
