Issued as part of book collections on Project MUSE. Change is the new normal. The human resource management (HRM) landscape in Malta has been transformed by a staggering increase of foreign workers, a demand for more and new skill sets, and an increase in job mobility. Malta and its Human Resources distills the views and experiences of 27 practitioners and academics, all involved in some way with HR matters. It comes in two sections: the first (9 chapters) review the HRM function, broken down into its various components: performance management, recruitment and selection, industrial relations, career development, motivation, creativity, equality, HR analytics, and education training; the second (12 chapters) offers vital insights as to how organisations, active in the various sectors of the local economy, construe HRM and its challenges in Malta, all within a European and global context.
