Abstract
This paper is based on a workshop on Machine Learning Design held at the 1994 Conference on Artificial intelligence in Design. The aim of the workshop was to explore issues and requirements of learning design, to critically evaluate the current and required support from machine learning techniques, and to identify key areas for future research. As a result of the accepted position paper, the workshop itself focused upon five key issues presented.
