Abstract

This article compiles and discusses information of the origin of fine aroma cocoa and its habitat, based on the requirements of the crop for the optimal development of the plant. It is also describing the connection of some cocoa festivals associating it with the culture and geoeconomics of the region. The cultivation of cocoa is related to the idiosyncrasy of the inhabitants of the most emblematic cocoa plantations in Venezuela, framing it as a culture associated with heritage, culture, and Venezuelan identity.
