Abstract

Good production planning which suitable for the company in fulfilling demand will increase amount of profits. PT. XYZ is a company which produce talc powder in lots of type, such as Globe 107 sterile, Globe 107 non-sterile, Globe 207 sterile, Globe 207 non-sterile, Globe 307 sterile, Globe 307 non-sterile, Globe 407 sterile, Globe 407 non- sterile, Globe 507 sterile, and Globe 507 is non-sterile. PT. XYZ problem is they can't fulfil all of their demands. Data used in this research are demand data from August 2015 until July 2019, company's cost component, and capacity of each machine used in the production process. The aim of this research is to project the next 12 months demands, determine the best lot sizing technique, and determine the capacity requirement for PT. XYZ. Based on the research, the best forecasting method is using artificial neural network, the best lot sizing technique is using AWW method with total cost Rp 2.310.465.513. The capacity problems in crusher and sterile machine are solved by implementing overtime, while in jet mill, sieve screening, and packaging can reduce their working shift.
