Abstract

Due to the recent advancements in technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is able to solve real world problems today. Many industries are already benefiting from AI. This paper aims to present how the Air Traffic Management (ATM) industry can benefit from AI and related technologies. The paper describes how AI has the potential to shorten the development time of ATM software systems for which traditionally human experts design a system and create a sophisticated model of the real world problem/challenge. The potential to shorten the development time of such systems is illustrated using an early go-around detection system as an example. Finally, the paper presents how additional areas of the ATM industry can benefit from AI.
