Abstract
The title of this study is the relationship between perceptions of competence and professionalism of teachers' interest in learning the skills of geographic at the High School of Bandung. The research was motivated by the fact that the subjects of geography more emphasis on cognitive aspects of low level, meaning that there are still subjects of geography at the level of theory has not been on developing skills. This study used survey research methods, by analyzing the level of the learner's perception of competence and professionalism of teachers' interest in learning a geographic skill. Analysis performed on data obtained through tests and questionnaires prepared in advance in a structured and through the testing process and test the validity and reliability. Pesera student population in 3253 amounted to SMAN Bandung, while the school sampling is done by random sampling of students in a way proportional stratified random sampling of a number of four schools that were visited during the study, with 97 students taken to be the object of research. Overall results professionalism of teachers contribute to high geographic skills. It is based on the perception of students on professional and pedagogical competence of teachers categorized as very high. While a variable interest in the students towards subjects being categorized geography. Research skills and geographical variables showed a low propensity. The fifth aspect of geographical skills in the fact still low, so the findings in the field that learners do not yet have the optimal geographic skills. Though geogarafis skills (Geographic Skills) is one effort that can be done to attract attention and interest in learning geography. Geographical Skills (Geographic Skills) can train students to be able to think systematically about the issues or environmental issues and social both locally and globally.
