CULTURAL INVARIANCE IN RISKY SHIFT AND ITS DETERMINANTS

Abstract

Examined the hypothesis that the prediction of unethical behavior varies as a function of perceived risk and that the risky shift in the group is caused by the competency of the partner and trust among the group members. 44 American and 80 Indian undergraduates completed the Behavior Prediction Scale. Results indicated that magnitude of punishment was the most crucial factor, particularly in the Indian Ss. Probability of gain was the most important for Americans.
