Abstract
The influence of the dopant on the magnetic and magnetoresistance properties in the layered perovskite Fe-doped La1.2Sr1.8Mn2O7 was investigated. The dopant led to further weakening of the double-exchange (DE) mechanism, giving rise to great changes in magnetic and transport properties. The ferromagnetic Curie temperature decreased at increasing dopant concentration. Due to the anisotropic interaction, the DE interaction and the metallic state are more fragile in the layered perovskites than in the ABO3-type perovskites.
