Abstract

In this paper, a metamaterial-inspired dual-band antenna with modified complimentary split ring resonator and electromagnetic band gap loading is proposed. The newly proposed modified CSRR brings 11.4% miniaturization in area of antenna as compared to conventional CSRR. The proposed antenna has an electrical size of 0.175λ0 × 0.218λ0 × 0.014λ0 and shows dual-band characteristics. The proposed antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 3.4% (centered at 2.62 GHz) for the first band and 20.1% (centered at 3.23 GHz) for the second band.
