Abstract
This article draws attention to a number of cases where it seems that scientists and technologists have been penalized in various ways for having views opposed to those of the nuclear industry. Publications may be suppressed, through to careers being destroyed. The examples come from many countries. It is not possible for one author to investigate thoroughly every claim, but the quality and quantity of casts cited here suggest grounds for concern. © 1986 Oxford University Press.
