Special issue on world Englishes and English for specific purposes (ESP)

Abstract

This special issue brings together leading scholars in the field of English for specific purposes (ESP) for an innovative and insightful discussion of the interface between ESP, as a leading subject area in applied and educational linguistics, and world Englishes (WE), as a sub-discipline of linguistics and sociolinguistics. The contributions to this special issue explore, in various ways, the synergies between these two approaches for linguistic research and pedagogy.
