A floristic survey of tree species cultivated in the Campus of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) found 187 species, belonging to 52 families. Among the species found, 47% are representatives of the Minas Gerais native flora (88 species). The results show great diversification of the trees planted in the campus streets, with the majority not being found in other urban metropolitan areas of Belo Horizonte.
