Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to identify the impact of some applied sports psychology methods on the psychological aspects level among Jordanian Karate team players during the spread of Covid-19. Methods: The researchers used the quasi-experimental approach, on a purposive sample consisting of (12) players (18-29) years and were divided into an experimental group (8) players and a control sample (4) players. Data were collected using the questionnaire developed by the researcher, which included four areas: self-confidence, anxiety, motivation, and psychological stress to measure the level of the psychological aspects. The researchers developed a psychological rehabilitation program that included positive self-talk, mental visualization, and social support that was applied to the experimental group. The program is composed of (12) psychological rehabilitation sessions for players during the full lockdown period due to the covid-19 spread. The researchers used the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (Spss) to find means, standard deviations, reliability coefficient (Cronbach Alpha), independent T-test, and paired-samples T-test. Results: The results of the study have shown that psychological aspects level was a high degree in pre-measurement for the motivation and self-confidence,and a medium degree for the anxiety and psychological stress. Furthermore, there are statistically significant differences between the pre and post-tests for the level of some psychological aspects among the Jordanian Karate team according to the psychological tools variable, and favor of the experimental group. Conclusions: Based on the results of the study, the researchers recommend using psychological applied methods as a positive factor in improving the level of psychological aspects of players in crises.
