Abstract

Potential gradients due to the spontaneous polarization of BiFeO 3 yield asymmetric and nonlinear photocarrier dynamics. Photocurrent direction is determined by local ferroelectric domain orientation, whereas magnitude is spectrally centered around charged domain walls that are associated with oxygen vacancy migration. Photodetection can be electrically controlled by manipulating ferroelectric domain configurations. Copyright © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
