Ecology of the Tiger-Fish ( Hydrocynus Vittatus ) in the Incomati River System South Africa

Abstract

The Incomati River system drains those parts of Eastern Transvaal, Swaziland and Mocambique lying between the Limpopo River system in the north and the Pongola River system in the south. The tiger-fish is one of the most sought-after sport fishes on the Mrican continent. The southern limit of its distribution is the Pongola River. The Incomati River system used to provide some very fine fishing for this species in the lower reaches.
