Abstract
CLEAN WATER QUALITY INSPECTION AND ESCHERICHIA COLI BACTERIAL CONTAMINATION IN CLEAN WATER FACILITIES. The quality of clean water is very much needed by the community in order to prevent various health problems caused and create clean water facilities for the community. The purpose of this community service is to monitor the quality of clean water in an effort to prevent Escherichia coli bacteria contamination. Implementation of community service activities in the Waled Health Center area of Cirebon Regency from 29 August to 16 September 2022. Supervision of clean water quality is carried out in several stages: the first stage is collection of data on the achievements of the environmental health program, the second stage is interviews/direct observation, and the third stage is collection clean water sample. The target of this intervention is the number of clean water facilities (SAB). The number of samples of facilities that were examined for clean water samples was 30 samples of water using the IKL Clean Water Facilities checklist format. Examination of air samples was carried out physically and bacteriologically. The results of this community service were that 60% of the clean water sources were polluted, because the distance of the latrine/septic tank was less than a 10 meter radius from the clean water source and 40% of the clean air sources were positively contaminated with E.coli bacteria. Increasing the scope of environmental health inspections for clean water sources/wells and conducting education about clean water requirements and safe distances from latrines/septic tanks.
