Abstract

A scanning laser acoustic microscope was used to generate growth curves for amphibilian limb regeneration. The mechanical properties of the specimen were converted into a visual image that was suitable for the measurements of limb growth. Bone, cartilage, muscle, dermis, and epidermis can be visualized.
