Abstract

The question of the links between professionalization and professional recognition leads to discuss an whole conception about what individuals in conditions of training or work do, starting from the expected or attributed qualities within specific environments, and the way they are recognized in those situations. The goal of this text consists of linking the founding elements of professionalization to the process of valorization and legitimation reached by professional recognition. We will try to study a double question: how to consider the links environments-individuals-activities? How to consider the links between activities and competences, and therefore how to conceive the professional recognition of the actors? Starting from this double-questioning, we will suggest a conceptualization of the path of the individual involved in the professionalization towards professional recognition.
