Abstract

This report summarizes a study carried out into expectations and perceptions of students and staff on two vocationally orientated taught postgraduate courses (the courses are in the areas of Hotel and Catering and Library Studies, both CNAA validated). The main purpose of this research was an attempt to raise the level of awareness about these types of courses by describing as fully as possible the ways in which students and staff cope with the teaching and learning situations they meet on the courses. Interviews and questionnaires were used as tools to acquire perceptions about the courses. © 1985 The Vocational Aspect of Education Ltd.
