Considerações sobre a delimitação de Mecardonia procumbens (Mill.) Small. (Scrophulariaceae)

Abstract

Five varieties of Mecardonia procumbens (Mill.) Small (Scrophulariaceae) are recognized in this work and new combinations are proposed. In addition, three species which were reported to Brazil, are now included as a synonym of these varieties. So, in Brazil, four species of Mecardonia are recognized: M. pubescens Rossow, M. serpylloides (Cham. & Schltdl.) Pennell, M. grandiflora (Benth.) Pennell and M. procumbens (Mill.) Small. In this work a key for the varieties and a list of synonyms are provided.
