Abstract

Discusses the sport of rowing, with the changes which have been made over the last two decades. The history of crew racing is given and the development of boat technology is outlined. The use of modern materials and honeycomb designs has dramatically reduced the weight of boats and the new designs for both the boats and the oars has dramatically changed the sport in recent years.
