Abstract
The present investigation, whose objective is to determine the sociodemographic factors and their relationship with the burden of caregivers of older adults. This quantitative, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional investigation; It was carried out in the province of Trujillo, with adult family caregivers of older adults from the home care program (PADOMI) of Es SALUD de Trujillo, during the year 2020, with authorization from the ethics committee. The sample universe was made up of adult caregivers and they were selected by convenience considering the 600 older adults registered in PADOMI and who met the inclusion criteria. The interview was conducted at the participant's home, and the Sociodemographic Profile, Zarit Scale and Pfeiffer Test instrumentswere applied. For data analysis, the statistical program Statistical Package for The Social Sciences -SPSS v. 22.0. It was found that there is a highly significant relationship between the overload of the older adult caregiver with demographic factors such as age, sex, education, marital status, kinship, time of care and there is no significant relationship with the type of disease.
